Get well with Physio Well Trust
We combine treatments tailored to your need. Described as ‘hands-on’ treatment provided by the Physiotherapist. Treatment may include moving joints in specific directions and at different speeds to regain movement (joint mobilization and manipulation), muscle stretching, passive movements of the affected body part, or having the patient move the body part against the therapist’s resistance to improve muscle activation and timing.
Selected specific soft tissue techniques may also be used to improve the mobility and function of tissue and muscle. This is often used in conjunction with other types of treatment to maximize the effect. Those techniques used by your Physiotherapist will help you to optimize and regain the function of the affected area of your body.
Massage therapy plays an important role in your rehabilitation but is not always necessary, your therapist will discuss with you further if this type of treatment will benefit you.
Massage therapy is a therapy that combines a number of techniques. Whether you are training for a competitive sporting event or just carry everyday tightness, sports massage is a highly effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system. Sports massage is typically used before, during, and after physical events, as well as during training to keep the body in shape and in condition during and pre-season. This helps to reduce the effects of fatigue and muscle tension and helps prevent injuries that occur during the event.

Physiotherapy rehabilitation is an important step in your treatment plan. The rehabilitation plan is made to optimize patient function and well-being, to help integrate that patient back into their chosen lifestyle activities whether at home, work or leisure. Rehabilitation should focus on changes to functional disability and lifestyle restrictions based on the patient’s own goals for functional improvement.
Rehabilitation can be used for recovery from injury as normal and also for the management of long-term conditions.
Rehabilitation should start as soon as possible to speed recovery. The programs that combine many different components are likely to be the most effective.
